IQ Abacus Students Topped at the MathMatters Competition!!
 (1/30/2010)
Bronson Wu, a 5th grader certified at Level Pro 4 in mental math, just won the 1st place in the ("Math Matters") competition on Saturday, 1/30. He got a Wii as the prize!

Bronson Wu has been a winner in many math competitions. Another recent one in November 2009, Bronson participated in the AMC8 competition which is designed for Middle School students from 6th to 8th grades. He scored at 17 out of 25 questions which ranked him at top 5% among a total of 150,733 students around the world!! And, he is only 5th grade!

MathMatters's math questions are designed for students who are capable of problem solving and critical thinking. In addition to Bronson, the following students are within top 10 places of a total of 175 participants in the MathMatters competition. The MathMatters web site lists the result of the contest. Please note that there were only two Test Centers in Arizona: one in Phoenix and the other one in Tucson. The overall result shows that Bronson Wu is the Grand Champion of the state and the following IQ Abacus students also topped most of other contestants. Among many schools, IQ Abacus students occupied four places in top 10 of the state ~ what an achievement!!
